S5 For Windows Torrent
You can get it from other sources, in this forum talks about something similar:Also, you can forget about that old PG, you can use a virtual machine with Windows XP and buy a usb - S5 cable:Those guys from IBH softtec also sell a S5 programming software, you can download the trial and see if it works for you:My recommendation would be install VMware in a new laptop (or your day to day laptop), install windows XP in a virtual machine, install STEP 5 in that virtual machine, use that USB-S5 cable. It is awful to trust in an old computer.Hope this helps.. Spoken by someone who's never been in the w/ww industry.I was recently at a site with a Modicon 984, installed in '91. Still running. Customer would LOVE to replace it. Ever try explaining to the mayor of a small town why you're going to spend 5,000 dollars to replace something that's been working fine for a decade or three?
For no advantage other than 'it's new!' Another customer has an ancient ControLogix redundant install that is so far behind in the firmware revs, it can't do Ethernet remote I/O. D`angelo voodoo blogspot. We have a Compactlogix pinch hitting for it for now. They don't have the budget to move everything up to current versions (it'd involve replacing hardware, and software all over the place). This isn't a tiny plant, either.Last 90-30 I upgraded, the code was sent to us in Logicmaster. Getting it onto the RX3i was a bit of an adventure because it was so old.
Only being replaced because the thing finally died.Still lots of leased lines, tone telemetry, and Bristol 3300 series stuff out there, too.Not everyone has money pouring out of their ass to put in the latest and greatest just because it's out there. You can buy a new SIEMENS Field PG with Step 5 installed. It’s expensive but you know it will work for a long time. Comes with an integrated programming adapter so the only cable you need is the 15 pin loop cable. Your local distributor may offer a bit of support with the PG if you ask nicely and get the right person on the phone.
Normally our suggestion is to migrate the hardware to a newer platform. There’s a migration utility for the software that does a pretty good job. I’ve migrated a few projects for our customers and it’s gone quite well.
To echo the other commenters, S5 hardware is critically obsolete, so planned migration should definitely be on your mind if the machine is at all critical to your operation.
